Courses to Teach:

Academic Writing for Ph.D. Students in Biology Major.

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Full English version)

Molecular Biology (Chinese version, for undergraduate students in Biology major).

Research Specialty:

Plant Molecular Biology, Functional Genomics, Plant Secondary Metabolites, Synthetic Biology.

Research Interest:

We are interested in the biosynthesis and regulation of lignin, a major component in plant secondary cell wall, and the application of reduced lignin contents in plants to improve the quality and production of crop species and trees. We use Arabidopsis thaliana as a model for research, and we translate the knowledge gained and techniques obtained from the basic research to improve oilseed crops (e.g. pennycress and camelina), forage crops (e.g. Alfalfa) and poplar trees.
