Botany
Senior Molecular Biology of Plant Stress
Research Interest:
Research in our lab focuses on mechanisms of plant response to abiotic stress. Within this framework, we study how genes and metabolic activities are regulated by abiotic stress conditions, usually acting at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level. The lab exploits leaf and root of Arabidopsis,Eutrema salsugineum, andSuaeda corniculataas the foundation in comparative studies of abiotic stress response. It thus provides the clues for better understandings of cellular defense mechanisms in plant against different external environments.
